Valentine’s day is coming up. I guess all the married/engaged/dating guys (which is all of my friends) who read this should take that as a hint to make Valentine’s Day plans now. No, wait, scatch that, you’re already too late. I thought a nice way to challenge myself would be to write a pro-love, un-jaded, optimistic Valentine’s Day piece. I think that would be pretty out of the ordinary for a guy like me to do. After all, I’m this somber emo-boi who has had his heart ripped out a few times. I’ve covered Valentine’s Day a few times (notice how often I skip classes on Valentine’s Day).
So, now I’m trying to think of something to write about concerning relationships and luv, but I can’t think of anything. I should say I can’t think of anything original to say. Love is written about too often. Every time I think about it I keep going back to things like 1 Corinthians 13 or that stupid love medley in The Moulin Rouge. It’s tough trying to come up with something different to say while not coming off as totally cheesy and insincere. I have a few days left to think of something. I suppose listening to angsty hardcore and being apathetic towards all things love aren’t going to help me.
