’05 is going to be a good year

Before every major school break I always draft up these highly idealistic plans in my head of what I’m going to get done during the break. Of course, my plans never come to full fruition. I had two books I wanted to finish this break: Their Finest Hour and Letters to a Young Poet. I’m only about 70 pages deep in the former, and I never even acquired a copy of the latter. I was hoping to switch this site to a different software package that would integrate the blog with a lightweight forums and gallery. I guess I’ll save that for some other time. I still have another site in the works, which will probably be a group effort focused on politics, the War on Terror, etc. I think I’ll be more comfortable with keeping steevak.com more of a personal site rather than talking about politics.

There’s a good chance I’m going to be heading back down to San Francisco to take part in MacWorld San Francisco. If I go I’ll have a press pass and helping MacNN cover the event. As a Mac nerd it would be super-cool to experience Steve Jobs’s fabled RDF in person. I’d also get a lot of free stuff. Anyway, it’s not for sure, but it seems highly likely that it’ll happen. If it does, I’ll be in San Francisco from the 11th to the 14th or so. I’ll have an internet connection there, and tons of pics to share probably. My only hope is that I can find some place to sleep besides my truck. If I don’t go to MWSF, I’ll probably just have a lot of Steve-time alone in Salem, which honestly doesn’t sound that bad.

I’m looking forward to this year. It has definitely started out better than last year.
