Freaknight ’00

I finally made it to a real rave. It was called Freaknight, featuring 88 acres, 8 stages, 30+ artists, and an attendence of over 10,000. However, it was pretty much all outdoors; outside it is cold at night when its late October. Some how I was under the impression that the dance areas were indoors and thus would be well-heated. In fact, I thought I would get hot in even my t-shirt and long pants (I was thinking about wearing shorts). Well, it turned out that I spent most of the night just trying to stay warm. There was only one building that was actually close to warm, but towards the end of the night, when I just wanted to sit down, I found out there was no place to sit. I had to either sacrifice my feet or my heat. My feet won out because I was at least able to stay slightly warm in another building by tucking my arms inside my shirt and breathing inside my shirt. The music was excellent. . .at first. When we were walking back to the car, I suddenly got really sick of techno. It seemed that they would use the same beat or hook for hours and hours. I like techno; I enjoy it. But, even I wanted to get away from the repetitive beating. It had been fun, but not as much as I expected.

At least I made it back safely though. Drugs were rife there. I would say probably about 90% of the ravers were bombed out of their skulls by various drugs (E, speed, pot, etc.). Oh yeah, Red Bulls are worthless. Don?t bother wasting your money on it.

I?m writing this journal entry in my USNORE — oops! I mean UCORE — class. Holy smokes, what a dumb class. What a waste of time and money. I just woke Brady up. Why can?t these classes be better? I still have 20 minutes left in this blasted class. Oh wait! We might be done! Ah nuts, he ?skipped? over something, so now he?s going back. . .
